The team which will represent South Africa at the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup, to take place in Oman in January, has been announced.

The SA Men's Indoor team have ended in second place of the Sultan Nazrin Shah Cup, held in Malaysia, after losing to Namibia in a shootout after the final was drawn.

The SA Men's team have qualified for the Olympics by virtue of a nail-biting and closely-contested 2-1 win over Egypt in the final of the African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 Qualifier in Pretoria.

18/05: SA Men's Indoor Coach Re-appointed

SA Hockey has announced that Justin Rosenberg's tenure as head coach of the SA Indoor Men's team has been extended through to the 2025 Indoor World Cup.

With the annual Summer Series making its welcome return after Covid, the SA Women's team which will be taking part has been announced.  The team is as follows:

Matches, one against the Netherlands and the rest against India, will take place at UCT on 16, 17, 19, 20 and 22 January and will be streamed on the SuperSport Schools website and app.

04/12: SA Men Win FIH Nations Cup

The South African Men's team have won the inaugural FIH Nations Cup, held in Potchefstroom, to earn a place in the FIH Pro League for the 2023-2024 season.  The victory came by virtue of them beating Ireland for the first time ever in a closely contested match with a final score of 4-3.

The SA Women's Hockey5s squad which will be playing in the African World Cup Qualifiers in Egypt has been announced.  The top three teams at the qualifiers will play in the FIH Hockey5s World Cup in Oman in January 2024.
