High School Girls Committee

High Schools Girls hockey functions as a sub-committee of the Mpumalanga Schools Hockey Association.  This committee is responsible for running leagues and provincial teams for under 14, under 16 and under 18 girls.

Age Groups:
No player shall play in an age group more than one age group above their age group (in SASHOC Age-group Policy), eg. u14 player may not play in u/16 side if there is an u/15 side.  If there is only an u/16 side, it is allowed.  Small schools with only ONE mixed team may have players of u/14 to u/18 in their teams.

Home schoolers:
SASHOC indicated that we allow home schoolers in our teams, with consent from the parents.  Our constitution states that players must be enrolled in the school.  Schools that wish to use a home schooler must apply in writing and the executive will approve.  Headmasters & parents agree on who is responsible.

Primary school players:
A player must be enrolled in a school to play for that school.  Where schools are combined (Secondary and Primary in one school), u/14 players may play for the u/14 team or the Primary First team but not both!

Tenders for IPT, Festivals, Noordvaal:
Compulsory: Tournament Director who is capable
Tenders go through MSHA
10% of profit of host paid over to MSHA

Tenders for play-offs, finals:
Astro hire: R250-00 per hour
Medics: R250-00 per hour
Additional: R1200-00 (Only if the venue does not have a team participating at the venue.  If a venue has a team, they save on traveling cost and forfeit the R1200.  (This includes technical table rate of R50-00 per hour, cleaning staff, coffee / water for officials)

Tenders for trials
Astro hire: No cost
Medics: R250-00 per hour
Additional: R500-00  (This includes: cleaning staff, coffee / water/ snacks for officials.)
